FAQs

What is your MOQ?

There is no minimum order quantity to engage services. For production sewing, the MOQ that will give you a nice price break from sampling is usually around 50 units, but we can absolutely launch batches smaller than that.

Do you work with clients remotely? Do I need to be in LA?

All the time, and no, there is no need to be on site in Los Angeles. Our clients are located on both coasts, all points in between, and many abroad! That said, it’s great if you can be on site in LA for fittings, but it really is no biggie if you can’t be. Zoom is amazing and fashion is a global business.

How much do you charge?

Our studio base rate is $85 per hour but it really depends on what you’re doing. Live sketching is more expensive, samplemaking is less. Patterns can range from 1 hour to 10+ depending on complexity. Once we have at least a vague idea of what your project is, we can give you a quote.

Do you do denim? Leather? Swim?

We develop all manner of sewn apparel. Shilo has a broad experience across categories and the larger studio team expands that range further. So, yes, yes, and yes.

How much is my entire project going to cost?

Every design is different, so in order to cost out a development, we need to get an idea of the scope and clarity of the project. We offer a free 20 minute consultation meeting and if you have sketches or references ready we can discuss those in that meeting and work up a quote for you. That quote will include a detailed breakdown of all of the steps and how much time/cost we expect each of those steps to take. Unfortunately, we can’t do that without a fair bit of info on the style.
